The 68th Primetime Emmy Awards News & Update: Will Will Forte & 'The Last Man On Earth' Win This Year?

Will Forte once again belong to the list of nomination in the coming 68th Primetime Emmy Awards with his stint in the TV series "The Last Man on Earth." The creator and lead actor of the post-apocalyptic comedy nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for the second time around.

'The Last Man On Earth' Now Has A Different Setting?

This, too, is an indication that Will Forte's "The Last Man on Earth" has gone a long way since it started in March 2015. The 46-year-old star played the role of Phil, who tried to search the whole North America to find a fellow survivor after a toxic virus spread and seemed to cause the human extinction. Phil managed to vandalize every billboard and road sign with a phrase, "Alive in Tucson," to find the other outlast.

However, Vine Report cited that after "The Last Man on Earth" Season 1 and 2, and a coming Season 3, Phil is not the only lone survivor of the pandemic. In fact, it looks like the show now has a different theme and slowly deteriorating. The finale of "The Last Man on Earth" Season 2 even had a hard time to give justice to this different setting. But, this is what Phil chooses to submit to the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards.

Will 'Last Man On Earth' Wins Emmy Award?

Without a doubt, Will Forte is the comical one compared to his competitors, Jeffrey Tambor of "Transparent" and William H. Macy of "Shameless," who are both known for dramedy shows. In the finale episode of "The Last Man on Earth" Season 2, the writer-producer showed his "incredible range" with a mix of emotional and hilarious stint, Goldderby reported. It is even a plus point that he also plays as the creator and producer of the TV series.

But, as "The Last Man on Earth" has a theme that entices younger viewers more, it looks like the conventional and older panel of judges from the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards will have a hard time to relate to it. Also, it is quite evident that "The Last Man on Earth" nomination today decrease from four in 2015 to just one this year. The 68th Primetime Emmy Awards will be held on Sept. 18 at the Microsoft Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, California, while "The Last Man on Earth" Season 3 will air on Sept. 25 on FOX.
