‘Arrow’ Season 5 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Who Is Oliver Green’s New Nemesis In Russia? Series To Show Bloodier Fights?

"Arrow" Season 5 is taking on a different direction to Russia with Dolph Lundgren to combat with. Wendy Mericle, the showrunner of the series from DC Comic, said that they all wanted the show to be as realistic as possible.

Oliver Green, portrayed by Stephen Amell, will get to have nasty encounter with Lundgren's character who is a government officer in Russia. Mericle said that "Arrow" Season 5 will get inspiration from Bratva, which is also known as a Russian Mafia organization. Perhaps, it is safe to say that the nemesis is one of the syndicate Green has to reckon with? Is that why Green has a Bratva tattoo?

"Arrow" Season 5 gives the audience a taste of flashbacks and they wanted to do it the right way. All staff of the show watched "Eastern Promises," a movie film by David Cronenberg back in 2007, to get some inspiration. The show runner herself watched documentary clips about Bratva and their schemes inside the Russian prison cells. Bratva is known for their brutality and violent nature according to Cinemablend. Are we expecting bloody fights from the series then? If they get inspiration from the "Eastern Promises," then probably we will.

The "Rocky IV" opponent is not the only concern of Green in "Arrow" Season 5. Our hero, the wealthy bachelor who was shipwrecked at sea, also has to keep his promise to Taiana, and tell her parents about the circumstance surrounding her and Vlad, her brother.

Mericle divulged that the staff already knows how "Arrow" will end. Unlike with the previous years, there will be less of a struggle for the writers.
