Deus Ex: Human Revolution Movie Release date- The Adaptation Gets A Director

CBS Films announced that "Sinsiter" director Scott Derrickson would be directing the film version of the video game Deus Ex: Human Revolution, according to a report by IGN.

"Deus Ex is a phenomenal cyberpunk game with soul and intelligence," Derrickson said in a statement. "By combining amazing action and tension with big, philosophical ideas, Deus Ex is smart, ballsy, and will make one hell of a movie."

The video game was a prequel to the original Deus Ex video game that was released in 2000 and follows Sarif Industries private security officer Adam Jensen. The company is a leader in biotech and specializes in human augmentations. Jensen is injured during an attack on the company and is force to undergo augmentation to survive. Jensen is basically modified to the point of being a cyborg and soon finds himself wrapped up in a conspiracy.

It looks like the film will not stray to far from the source material. Here is the film's the official synopsis: "Set in the near future, when dramatic advances in science, specifically human augmentation, have triggered a technological renaissance, Deus Ex: Human Revolution follows Adam Jensen, an ex-SWAT security specialist who must embrace mechanical augments in order to unravel a global conspiracy."

According to IGN's report, Derrickson will also be co-writing the script with Robert Cargill, who worked with the director on the movie "Sinster." Roy Lee and Adrian Askarieh will produce, with John P. Middleton serving as Executive Producer. The film was announced back in July. CBS films has not yeat announced a release window for the film.

It looks like the theaters will be crowded with video game movies in the upcoming years with the recent announcements that Tom Hardy has signed on for the feature film version of the Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell and that the Assassin's Creed movie could begin filming soon.
