Microsoft has released a new trailer for its third episode of Halo 4's Spartan Ops mode. The episode will feature the return of the infamous Dr. Catherine Halsey, who created the SPARTAN-II Program and MJOLNIR powered Assault Armor.
She is also the one who supervised the augmentation procedures, combat training, and education of the children who became Spartan IIs. Halsey and Jacob Keyes personally recruited the children for the program including John-117, also known as the Master Chief.
The third episode will take place after the main story of Halo 4 and will continue the storyline of the first two episodes. The new missions will be available Nov. 19 at 3 a.m. PT. The episode like previous episodes will feature an all-new CG cinematic and five new gameplay missions.
Here is episode 3's synopsis from Microsoft's press release as reported by Game Informer:
"Some call Dr. Catherine Halsey a war criminal, others believe her creation of the Spartans saved humanity from extinction. Whatever you believe, right now she is the UNSC Infinity's only hope to understand the mysterious artifact retrieved from Requiem, and she needs your boots on the ground to get more intel, Spartan."
For those gamers that have yet to play the new mode, Spartan Ops is a story-driven mode that is told through episodes. Each episode features five missions that can be played as a single-player game or online.
Each mission takes about 10-15 minutes to complete and has four to five minor objectives. During the missions players will battle against the combined forces of the Covenant and Promethean enemies. The game mode is not as time consuming as the single-player campaign or the war games multiplayer mode and is perfect for getting a quick fix of Halo 4 in.
