'Diablo 4' News & Updates: Are We Still Getting This Game?

"Diablo" developers Activision Blizzard have been looking for new game designers to lead an unannounced project lately, and "Diablo" fans keep thinking that the vacancy has something to do with the upcoming (but also really unannounced) "Diablo 4." This has been a rumored issue ever since "Diablo 3" director Josh Mosqueira left Blizzard.

Mosqueira was the man who turned "Diablo 3" around soon after it released to a lukewarm reception at best back in 2012. With his departure, Movie News Guide speculates that Blizzard's going to have to take a while to put together "Diablo 4" as it finds someone just as capable to lead the team, thereby making them less likely to even drop the announcement of the game at this year's BlizzCon. That's all and well with Blizzard's typical operations, however, as the studio is well-known for taking years in their production cycles to come up with releases as they make sure each release is of good quality.

What does seem to be in the pipeline, however, is that Blizzard seems to be gearing up to announce yet another franchise in their growing collection. If we can't get "Diablo 4" at this year's BlizzCon, surely we must be getting something else; as to what it exactly is, however, there are just no clues yet. It is interesting to note, however, considering that the company is just coming off the success of their newest original property, "Overwatch."

Could the new unannounced project be a new franchise, though? Or could it be a "Diablo 2" remake, since the game industry is investing heavily in remakes of old games at the moment? Whatever it is, all we know is that if you're a "Diablo" fan waiting for a "Diablo 4," it might be pretty tough luck for you. It shouldn't be a problem, though, as Blizzard has a lot of other games for you to play while you wait.
