Microsoft has released a new trailer for its fourth episode of Halo 4’s episodic multiplayer mode, Spartan Ops. The episode continues the story and reveals even more about the infamous Dr. Catherine Halsey.
Here is episode 4's synopsis from Microsoft's official Halo 4 YouTube page:
“An unknown intelligence contacts Doctor Halsey, Thorne tries to understand the history of the Spartan Program, and the Sangheili terrorist known as "The Didact's Hand" appears on Requiem... but what is he searching for? Spartans, prepare for things to get rough on Requiem.”
Spartan Ops is a Cooperative Mode in Halo 4 that supports up to four players and takes a deeper look at the Spartan-IV program while revealing more about past characters.
The Spartan Ops mode mainly follows Fire team Crimson; a team of Spartan IV's that are deployed on Forerunner planet Requiem. Seasons will be made up of 10 episodes featuring five chapters each for a total of 50 chapters.
Each chapter or mission take approximately 10-25 minutes to complete and has four to five minor objectives like activating gun turrets or clearing the area of enemy contacts.
During the missions players will battle against the combined forces of the Covenant and Promethean enemies. The mode is perfect for some quick Halo action and also provides player with achievements to unlock for completing things like kill streaks.
