"Marco Polo" follows the story of a legendary traveler who brought information of the East to the West during the 13th century. His detailed accounts included the one of the greatest ruler in history, Kublai Khan.
While the story is mainly focused on Marco Polo and his travel diaries, there are speculations that "Marco Polo" season 3 may give Kublai Khan a huge arc. As such, there might a faceoff between Preston John and Kublai Khan.

'Marco Polo' Cancelled?
While initial rumors believed that "Marco Polo" season 3 will air winter of 2017, recent speculations say that Netflix may not air it at all. The latest speculations state that Kublai Khan has faced his demise after his short appearance in season 2. There are speculations that Benedict Wong may not reprise his role as Kublai Khan and this could mean the cancellation of "Marco Polo" season 3.
Wong is currently signed up for Marvel's "Dr. Strange." Many of the cancellation and delay rumors are pointed towards Wong. More so, rumor mill has it that the productions cost of "Marco Polo" season 3 is simply too much per Christian Times. Many fans have dubbed as the series as the "Game of Thrones" of Netflix. While it has been critically-acclaimed, the rate of viewers is reportedly saddening.
