Microsoft recently added many new features with its annual Xbox Live fall update, including a new user interface, Internet explorer, and the SmartGlass application.

The new interface incorporated more of Microsoft's Metro interface and offers cross-bar style navigation on the Live dashboard. It is a much cleaner interface than the previous year's edition.

The Xbox SmartGlass application turns cell phones and tablets into a second screen that "intelligently interacts with your Xbox 360 to elevate your entertainment experience. Xbox SmartGlass allows for your devices and TV to talk to each other to enhance your favorite TV shows, movies, music, sports and games," according to Microsoft.

The new Internet Explorer app allows Xbox gamer to finally be able to surf the web on their console. The app allows gamers to even surf the web utilizing the Kinect for voice control of the web. The PlayStation 3 has had the web for what seems like ever, but the Xbox app works slightly better.

Xbox Live's gold membership cost $59.99 for a yearly subscription or $24.99 for a three-month subscription.
