Microsoft released the trailer for the upcoming fifth episode of Halo 4's Spartan Ops mode that features some noteworthy admissions about the series' mysterious forerunners.
The last episode introduced cult leader Jul 'Mdama, also known as the Didact's Hand. According to the Halo wiki, "Jul 'Mdama is a Sangheili and was the Lord of Bekan Keep in the rural state of 'Mdama, where he lived with his wife, Raia, and his children, two of which are Dural and Asum. He later became the leader of the Storm Covenant, assuming the title of the Didact's Hand."
Here is the official synopsis for Spartan Ops: Episode 5 "Memento Mori" for Halo 4:
"Secrets are revealed, trusts betrayed, and the Sangheili leader Jul 'Mdama's ultimate plan nears success. As Infinity's command crew makes a discovery that changes everything we thought we knew about the Forerunner Prometheans, the Spartans must attempt to rescue one of their own."
Spartan Ops: Episode 5 goes live on Monday, Dec. 1 for Xbox Live gold members. For those gamers that haven't played the game mode, Spartan Ops is a story-driven mode that is told through weekly episodes. The episodes feature five small missions that can be played as a single-player game or online with a friend.
The missions are composed of four to five minor objectives and takes about 10-15 minutes to complete with an ocassionly mission taking a little longer. During the missions players will battle against the combined forces of the Covenant and Promethean enemies. The game mode is not as time consuming as the single-player campaign or the war games multiplayer mode and is perfect for getting a quick fix of Halo 4 in.
The Spartan Ops mode is divided into seasons with each one lasting ten weeks. The episodes of Spartan Ops factors into Halo 4's storyline and delves deeper into the story of the fourth generation of Spartan soldiers.
