Splinter Cell Blacklist Release Date: New Trailer Showcase Sam Fisher's Stealthy Capabilities

Hidden inside of a void of darkness is Sam Fisher. He moves through the shadows and crevasses of the uninhabited. He shifts his body and tenses his muscle in preparation for impact.

Fisher drops to the floor from the air vent and quickly becomes one with the shadows again. Fisher is an apparition drifting behind his target. No he is a panther and his prey is within his grasp now. He strikes falling his enemy with a single blow before fading into the black.

In the latest Splinter Cell: Blacklist developer commentary video from Ubisoft, Animation Director, Kristjan Zadziuk, discusses Sam Fisher's stealthy capabilities.

"The theme we are going for is unmatched fluidity with Sam, with his enviorments and with his moves," Zadziuk said. " We are trying to show that Sam has a move for every situation."

The video shows Sam going for head and kidney shots against unsuspecting targets as he traverse a pitch-black rooftop in the rain and looks to continue the stealth legacy of previous titles in the series.

In a recent interview with the New York Post, Maxime Beland, Creative Director for the title said that the development team has worked hard to make Blacklist the biggest game in the series.

"We've worked hard to make Splinter Cell Blacklist the biggest game in the series," Beland said. "In Splinter Cell: Blacklist, we've built a deep and engaging single player experience and support a full range of gameplay from stealth to action, giving players variety and choice throughout the game."

Beland said that the studio has taken the best elements of previous Splinter Cell games and brought back some fan favorite features.

"We are embracing the best elements of all the Splinter Cell games, bringing back fan-favorite features in an updated and modern way," Beland said. "We are confident that gamers will find this the biggest and most ambitious game in the series. But we are also building Splinter Cell Blacklist as a game that can be enjoyed as a standalone experience even if you are new to the franchise."

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist will release for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC in Spring 2013. Watch the developer's video below....
