WWE Latest News, Updates: Big Show Breaks Ring Rope in Manila Show; Athlete Safety Concerns Questioned?

The WWE show held in Manila last September 9th left fans in absolute satisfaction with the appearance of their favored superstars. Another thing that gave the shock to many was a certain scenario that may have threatened the safety of the company's athletes.

Though some in-ring unexpected circumstances may occur during a WWE live show, safety is of the utmost importance for both the company and the employees. This was the case with Paul Wight, otherwise known as The Big Show, who allegedly encountered one during the Manila tour.

According to Rappler, The Big Show was set in a match with the ever-popular John Cena when the athlete attempted a high-risk maneuver and went to the top rope. As the seven-foot, four-hundred pound WWE giant was about to go for it, the second rope snapped and caused Wight to nearly drop his entire body weight onto Cena.

Thankfully, Cena managed to evade the impending danger and went on with the show. Playing along with the situation, Cena dropped The Big Show with his signature Five-Knuckle Shuffle and ended the match with his finishing move, the Attitude Adjustment and pinned the massive WWE superstar.

As per TMZ, this may be a cause of concern for both WWE and The Big Show as to whether the particular athlete should continue with trying to perform such feats in the near future. As such incidents could put Wight and others at risk, such may be a case to consider, but the company immediately claimed that the ropes were built to withstand The Big Show's weight and was a fluke.

Big Show is said to return to the ropes and the ring soon enough. As for the WWE storyline, none yet has been disclosed for the said athlete but makes fans excited on when the giant will show up again.

The WWE show in Manila concluded with great results, which included WWE Women's Champion Charlotte retaining her title against Sasha Banks, Roman Reigns pinning Jericho and The New Day keeping their titles against Anderson & Gallows. Stay posted for more WWE news.
