Recent rumors surrounding "Law and Order:SVU" Season 18 is heading on a negative turn. Claims have erupted that the renewal faces cancellation and that Mariska Hargitay prefers a spinoff segment instead.

The longest running drama tv series, "Law and Order:SVU" Season 18  is set to be aired on September 21, 2016. The NBC TV series depict the daily stories of crimes of an elite squad in their attempts to investigate and solve sexually-based criminalities.

Despite the claims that have surfaced, there are no affirmations that Mariska Hargitay preferred a spinoff for "Law and Order:SVU" Season 18. Moreover, that presumption should be taken with a grain of salt in mind.
