The Walking Dead: Episode 1 'A New Day' Is Free on Xbox Live And iTunes

Telltale Games is giving away episode one of its episodic point-and-click adventure role-playing video game, The Walking Dead: The Game for free on Xbox Live. The video game is based on Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead comic book series and not AMC's television series.

According to IGN, Episode 1 - A New Day is free on Xbox Live till the end of the year. The game is also available for free on the iTunes store for iPad and iPhone. Unfortunately for PlayStation 3 gamers, episode one is still going for its regular price on the PlayStation Network.

In the game, players take on the role of Lee Everett, a convicted criminal, who has been given a second chance at life because of the zombie apocalypse. The game features lasting consequences based on the decisions that gamers make in each episode. While Lee is seeking refuge for the undead, he stumbles upon Clementine, an eight-year-old girl. Lee then takes Clementine under his wing as the search for supplies and safety.

Here is the episode one's official synopsis from Telltale Games:

"The critically acclaimed debut episode of The Walking Dead begins at the outset of the undead apocalypse. Lee Everett awakes into a world collapsing into anarchy as society fails to deal with the undead plague. Seeking refuge, he stumbles upon Clementine, an eight-year-old girl whose parents are missing. Lee takes Clementine under his wing as they seek safety from the walkers all around them.

The rest of the episodes are avaible for 400 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live and for $4.99 on the iTunes Store. The game is also availble for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in a retail edition that collects all five episodes. Check Episode 1's official trailer below and don't forget to download the game.
