Disney kids who also happen to grow up playing games from the Final Fantasy franchise are in for something huge, which will come early in 2017. "Kingdom Hearts 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue," which marks the end of the Xehanort Saga and the final piece before Kingdom Hearts III, is already set to be released in 2017. A new trailer has recently been released online which shows additional footage from all three games included in the collection.

Entertainment Weekly noted that in the new trailer, Aqua is shown coming across with a sleeping Ven and a strange mirror taunts her with dark promises. The KeyBlade master does not appear to back down as she draws her weapon and fights back as gameplay footage of new battle mechanics is shown. A little later on, Aqua appears to get lost within the darkness which is just in time for Mickey Mouse to rescue her and bring her back to the light.

Playstation Lifestyle reported that after the game was unveiled by developer Square Enix, they also revealed its official website, which suggests that the new title will have a DLC. This new game will include "Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance" for the Nintendo 3DS, a short episode from "Birth By Sleep," and a film remake of "Kingdom Hearts X." A fan had already taken some time to look into the new website where there is a navigational link for the DLC, however, it is not yet working.

"Dream Drop Distance" will be reinvented from its original version and shows off familiar game motion originally utilized in the 3DS. This is where Sora and Riku battle through unknown terrain while under a sleeping spell to prove their worth in wielding KeyBlades. "Kingdom Hearts X Back Cover" will be used as an animated short film wherein the history of the KeyBlade masters and the KeyBlade war will be revealed.

The new trailer is accompanied by a remix of "Simple and Clean" by Utada Hikaru, who also composed and performed the song "Sanctuary" for the opening sequence of "Kingdom Hearts II." This latest masterpiece by Square Enix and Disney "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" will be officially launched in January 24, 2017 for the PlayStation 4.
