'For Honor' Latest News, Release Date & Update: Alpha Test Begins Today; Game Modes Released

Fans who are looking forward to get their hands on the Medieval fighting game "For Honor" would be glad to know that the game modes and characters have been unveiled by Ubisoft. They're also holding a closed alpha test beginning today, so read on to find out what you need to know about the upcoming action hack and slash game.

We recently reported on the four warriors that gamers get to play on Ubisoft's "For Honor"--the Samurai, Viking, and Knight. During the alpha test that begins today, players will access these characters, as well as the Raider, the Conquerer, and the Berserker, Gamespot reports.

According to Ubisoft, the closed alpha will enable "For Honor" gamers to get a glimpse of the "progression system as they unlock new abilities, new weapons and armour, as well as new visual customisation possibilities following their fight on the battlefield." Gamers would also know that each hero has certain qualities, skills, and fighting styles unique to each one of them, to help them move forward in the game.

Gamers who will participate in today's "For Honor" alpha test should know that there are three multiplayer modes, including the 1v1 Duel, 2v2 Brawl, and the 4v4 Dominion, each with different maps featuring various environments to challenge the players and hone their battle skills.

Once "For Honor" arrives next year, fans will get a taste of Dominion, Brawl, Duel, Skirmish, and Elimination, wherein a team of gamers eliminate an entire team of opponents in a 4v4 setting. In Elimination, the team with the surviving gamers are crowned winners of the match.

According to Forbes, "For Honor" is set to arrive on February 14, 2017 to Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. However, fans can visit Ubisoft's official website and sign up for the alpha test that begins today at 6 a.m. and will run until September 18 at 5 pm.
