MacBook Pro 2016 Release Date, News & Update: October Release Possible?

MacBook Pro 2016 did not come out in the Apple event held last Sept. 7. Apple CEO Tim Cook announced that the company is not pulling out the Mac line. MacBook Pro has no official release date but may be released in the next Apple event in October. The upcoming netbook computer may also lose the 3.5mm jack like the iPhone 7 and will feature the new OLED screen bar.

In the weeks leading to Apple's September event, leaked reports and rumors circulated that the Macbook Pro 2016 would be released in the Apple event alongside their flagship phones iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, and Apple Watch Series 2. However, the next-generation professional laptop, as it turns out, was never even considered to be part of the highly publicized event.

Many people reportedly held out their plans of buying a new laptop computer to wait on the MacBook Pro 2016 which was expected to release this month, Heavy reported. Rumors have been circulating that the next-generation MacBook Pro will be released in October like the Macbook Pro 2 and the MacBook Pro 3. However, others are reportedly skeptical that the device would come this year.

The most anticipated feature of the MacBook Pro 2016 is reportedly the OLED touchscreen bar to replace the traditional, physical function keys, Ars Technica reported. It is also rumored to feature the upcoming seventh gen Intel Kaby Lake processor instead of the Skylake the current version has.

The Thunderbolt 3 feature will have enough bandwidth for two 4K displays at 60HZ, HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2. Intel's Kaby Lake processors will also support integrated graphics speed improvements.

MacBook Pro 2016 is also expected to roll out without the standard 3.5mm audio jack. It may also have integrated support for 40Gbps Thunderbolt 3 and a USB 3.1 type C connector. Apple is yet to announce any specs and details for their next device.
