In "Rick and Morty," Morty's parents are having a marital problems. Beth gave up her dreams to be a surgeon at the age of 17, after giving birth to Summer. The possibility that Summer and Morty having some participation in the escape of their grandfather Rick has pushed the Galactic Federation's revenge on their way.
The earth is under control by the Federal Governmen in "Rick and Morty" Season 2 which causes Rick a lifetime to hide. Rick defended his family and surrendered himself to prison as per VineReport. Ricks escape was done very quickly that the federation did not notice. This time Rick will be haunted by villains.

Beth was disappointed with their marriage as Jerry was an irresponsible husband, and a slacker. But Jerry finally got a job in the Federal Government, but there is also a possibility that they would still resent Jerry because he is working for the person that is responsible for Rick's imprisonment.
