"Fallout 4" PS4 will no longer have mod support for the gaming console. Bethesda reportedly blames Sony for blocking user mods to work the way they should. Certain issues had to be fixed before the mods were released for PS4 since Bethesda mods were already functioning prior to negotiations with Sony.
On its official website, Bethesda.net released an update informing that Sony has not approved user mods to allow users to do anything they want for either "Fallout 4" PS4 or 'Skyrim Special Edition.' The mod support for 'Fallout 4' had already been released on Xbox One in May but was delayed on PS4 in June.
The "Fallout 4" PS4 mods have already been expected for months and Bethesda was reportedly disappointed that it did not push through. There were certain issues that Bethesda was concerned with prior to launching mod support for "Fallout 4" PS4. Firstly, PC textures are used in the mods, which could have memory and performance issues. Secondly, sound files are not being supported because the PS4 format is a proprietary format. Thirdly, the PS4 mod storage limit is only at 900MB, compared to the 2GB on Xbox One mod support.
In other news, a new development connected to the launch of mod support for a game title similar to "Fallout 4" has been announced. 'Farming Simulator 17' game developer Giants Software has confirmed mod support on the PS4 version of the game. The news came only days after Bethesda announced that they would cease to bring Mods to "Fallout 4" PS4 since the company has failed with its negotiation with Sony.
"Fallout 4" PS4 Mods may no longer be a working feature, Express Co revealed. Bethesda VP Pete Hines recently gave a comment on the situation following the Bethesda statement release, apparently confirming that the Mods feature was ready for PS4 but negotiations with Sony just failed. The company may have given up on "Fallout 4" for PS4 but "Fallout 4" mod support is still available on Xbox One.
