PlayStation 4 Update 4.0 Latest News & Update: Gamers Report Bugs, Resolution Problems, Connectivity, Others

New and shiny Sony PlayStation 4 firmware update 4.0 is allegedly bugs-infested. Gamers are beginning to dig deeper into update 4.0 then air discontent over variety of reasons.

Notable among bugs that cause concern among PlayStation 4 owners is the upload quality of videos. PS4 is supposed to operate with lower HD via 720 pixels but there are new claims that it backtracked to lesser resolution. Few gamers tried to fix this issue and employed basic workarounds but to no positive results. This is mainly because update 4.0 is too technical for simple tweaks to fix.

To recall, Sony boasts that PlayStation 4 update 4.0 will add HDR capability and other current functionalities to the console, Extreme Tech said. While this is a welcome change, it appears that new bugs effectively brushed aside the good intention behind.

To pile up the concerns, Techno Aisle said that prominent among bugs are connectivity issue to Twitter and PlayStation Messenger via iOS. The updated PS4 will simply register several error codes or will run at first only to crash later. While Twitter connectivity issue is a bit tough to crack for now, PS Messenger can be fixed by doing an app reinstallation.

Another claim is the returning bug from update 2.0 where gamers had difficulty turning on the console after a quick rest. Rest mode allows gamers to leave their consoles running while changing accessories like controllers. Prior to PS4 update 4.0, gamers can also download contents running at minimal power through this mode. Apparently, this is not a good practice for the meantime.

In a related development, Sony admits they are verifying recent problems and aims to fix them if necessary. Booting errors, crashing and freezing during in-game are few complaints after PlayStation 4 update 4.0. With Sony's flagship console now in compromise, expect the tech giant to take preemptive measures so stay tuned at GameNGuide for updates.
