What will a movie be about if it is entitled "Mad Max" but does not focus on Max? "Mad Max" is expected to be back on the barren horizon for its next post-apocalyptic instalment.
As reported by Game Zone, Director George Miller already revealed last May 2015 the title of the film, following the movie "Mad Max: Fury Road". The sequel will have "Mad Max: The Wasteland" as title.
It was revealed by The Herald Sun that "Mad Max: The Wasteland" is planned to be filmed in NSW's (New South Wales) Broken Hill Studios. The filming is said to start before the end of 2016 until early 2017.
Speculations are circulating that Oscar winner Charlize Theron will be taking the lead role in the next "Mad Max" movie. Moreover, rumors are detailing that "Mad Max: The Wasteland" will focus on Furiosa, the character portrayed by Charlize Theron in "Mad Max: Fury Road".
Inverse reported that Director George Miller made statements regarding the shift on focus. He said that he had two "Mad Max" movies planned in the past.
One was the "Mad Max: Fury Road" and the other was reported to be entitled "Furiosa". This being said, it is more likely that the upcoming movie entitled "Mad Max: The Wasteland", which Director George Miller said during the time "Mad Max: Fury Road" was premiered was actually the updated title of the sequel.
With this as a premise, fans are expecting to see in "Mad Max: The Wasteland", how it was for Furiosa growing up in the Green Place. Green Place is the mythical place in the lore of "Mad Max: Fury Road". It is a utopia-like location where crops are able to grow and can maintain a thriving population of settlers.
It can be recalled from "Mad Max: Fury Road" that Furiosa was a descendant of the "Vuvalini of Many Mothers", an all-female tribe who oversaw and lived in Green Place.
"Mad Max: The Wasteland" seems to be succeeding in playing with the curiosity of its fans with the spoilers telling that it will not be about Max. Speculations will remain as speculations until this highly-anticipated movie is released.
