'Supernatural' Season 12 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Crowley Joins Forces With Castiel To Defeat Lucifer; Mary Resurrects, Dave Saves Brother From Torture [VIDEO]

"Supernatural" Season 12 will air on Thursday, Oct.12 at 9 p.m. EDT on CW. A teaser shows the unlikely team up of angel Castiel and the king of hell Crowley to defeat the fallen angel Lucifer.

The fallen angel once inhabited the body of angel Castiel (Misha Collins) thinking it was the best way to take down Amara (Emily Swallow). However, he failed and it was Dean who reunited with God to defeat Amara.

In "Supernatural" Season 12, Lucifer will leave Cas and move to a new body (Rick Springfield). This way, he is free to do what he wants instead of being caged in hell. The fallen angel wants revenge but he is not the only one.

The king of hell Crowley (Mark Sheppard) also wants revenge against the fallen angel. The devil had dethroned Rowena's on and humiliated him. Set to reclaim the throne, he joins forces with Castiel, who is not happy that Lucifer is roaming around earth, to defeat the fallen angel, Entertainment Weekly reported.

Meanwhile, Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) will be faced with the resurrection of their mother Mary (Samantha Smith). But first, Dean has to save his younger brother from the British Men of Letters who want to torture him.

"Supernatural" Season 12 Executive Producer and Writer Andrew Dabb revealed that Castiel and Mary Winchester will get closer in the course of the season. Castiel will be the focus of one episode in Season 12, which will be more intimate and personal, TVLine reported.

"Supernatural" Season 12 show will reveal the connection between Castiel, Sam, and Dean on a more personal level, digging up the past. Cas and Mary will also form a platonic relationship, which is not romantic, but more based on what they have in common. They are both strangers in a strange land.
