According to Indie Wire, "Preacher" Season 2 star Ruth Negga made herself one of the frontrunners due to overwhelmingly positive reception of her performance in the civil rights movie "Loving." Debuting in Cannes Film Festival in May, the movie competed for the Palme d'Or and received a standing ovation from the notoriously picky Cannes audience.
It is rumored that Negga is now torn between filming "Preacher" Season 2 and promoting "Loving." With the awards season coinciding with the production of "Preacher" season 2, executives are said to have express concern that Negga will not be able to juggle both jobs.
