Katherine McNamara, who portrays Clary Fray in "Shadowhunters" Season 2, graced the cover of VVV Magazine and talked about the coming of the next installment. The 20-year-old star revealed that fans will see more of her character and her development as a Shadowhunter.
Clary, Jace's Character Developments
"The major journey for Clary this season is going to be her solidifying her place in the shadow world," Katherine McNamara said about her role in "Shadowhunters" Season 2. The American actress revealed that her role will now use her "unique ability and mundane upbringing" to be the new Shadowhunter that fans have never seen before. To recall, "Shadowhunters" Season 1 ended with a major cliffhanger as her mom finally woke up and Jace Wayland (Dominic Sherwood) was being lured by Valentine (Alan van Sprang).
Just Jared Jr. reported that as Clary solved her first mission, her next assignment in "Shadowhunters" Season 2 is to get her brother back. This is what Clary will do that will make her analyze her real connection with Jace as her brother in the TV adaptation of Cassandra Clare's "The Mortal Instrument." Thus, fans are about to witness the character development of Clary and Jace.
A Lot Of Tearjerker Scenes Coming?
Meanwhile, in a Facebook Live session of Katherine McNamara on "Shadowhunters" page, she teased the plotline of the coming "Shadowhunters" Season 2. "The story for the season is sticking to the skeletal plot of the books ... but we're bringing in so many cool new elements and many amazing things," she said. The new installment will be based on Cassandra Clare's second novel, "City of Ashes," and though it would be by the book, it could feature new unexpected twists.
Katherine McNamara revealed that "Shadowhunters" Season 2 will let its viewers have their own viewpoints on the show in general. She also teased that there will be a lot of "tearjerker" scenes that fans should be better get ready for. "Shadowhunters" Season 2 will return in 2017 on Freeform.
