LG V20 Release Date, News, Update: First To Run Android 7.0 Nougat Launches In US On Oct. 21, Same Day With Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Relaunch?
LG V20 is going to be released on Oct. 21 through all major carriers in the US, according to Evan Blass of @evleaks. Apparently, Samsung will also relaunch Galaxy Note 7 right on the same day.
The new LG V20 is reportedly the first smartphone that will run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Drastic design and changes in configurations were notable in the V10 successor. In fact, the previous model's rugged design has been changed into a lightweight aluminium chassis in the new V20.
According to reports, aluminium alloy that was originally used in mountain bikes and aircrafts were used by LG. However, the lightweight alloy is believed not to have any effect on the handset's tough build due to its similar "MIL-STD-810" rating.
LG V20 is reported to feature a 5.7-inch IPS display with a Quad HD resolution, along with a unique secondary ticker screen. In addition, the phone's display length is believed to be expanded and its brightness have also been improved.
The upcoming LG V20 is reported to be powered by a Snapdragon 820 SoC with 4GB of RAM. It also comes with 64GB of built-in storage space with expanded microSD.. Furthermore, a fingerprint scanner at the back, right below the rear camera is also featured in the new smartphone.
LG V20 is expected to hit the store shelves with three color variants - Pink, Slver and Titan. However, reports indicate that the Pink variant is unlikely to be available in the US, The Bit Bag reported.
Meanwhile, LG V20 will first be offered in South Korea beginning Sept. 29. The mobile device will cost KRW 899,800, while currently offered at $803. This means that the pricing is likely to differ in other parts of the world. Based on the reported pricing, the new V20 is $89, or KRW 100,100 more expensive than V10 when it was released.
LG V20 is expected to hit the market shelves in Hongkong soon, following the release in South Korea, GSM Arena reported.
