"Gears of War 4" game developer The Coalition previously revealed the new Horde 3.0 mode during the PAX West event. The Horde 3.0 features an all-new class system as well as mechanics for defense building.
Additionally, with the "Gears of War 4" less than a month away from imminent release, season pass buyers are set to get more than was originally announced. Coalition studio head Rod Fergusson previously announced on Twitter that the number of card packs to be received with the season pass has been expanded.
Initially, the season pass had six Gear Packs which the game developer has replaced with a 17 pack Starter Air Drop. This new Air Drop includes five Horde Boosters, five Operations Packs, five Elite Packs, and five Versus Boosters.
Overall, there will be 85 cards which will be called the sampler platter, Fergusson said. In addition, the season pass offers at retailers are said to be getting updated as well.
The season pass can be purchased at $50 which will include the Starter Air Drop, permanent DLC map ownership for more than 24 maps, the VIP Vintage Pack with new skins for weapons and a character, and the Developer Playlist, which offers access to modes, variants, and maps before it will be released to the public.
"Gears of War 4" is included in the Xbox Play Anywhere program which will allow customers who purchase the game digitally on Xbox One to also get a digital copy of the PC version and vice versa at no cost. The game will feature a new character named Kait who is voiced by Laura Bailey.
Previously speculated and was confirmed in Microsoft's "Going Gold" event was that the gold master disc now has Xbox replication facilities all over the world. The game is slated to come out on Oct. 11 on Xbox One and PC.
