iOS 10 Jailbreak Rumors: Hackers Waiting For Apple’s Next Patch Release

Apple jailbreakers such as Pangu, TaiG and probably even Lucas Todesco have nothing to show since the release of iOS 10.0.2 though something could pop up soon. Seeing however that Apple plans to roll out another security update, a new iOS jailbreak may only happen after the Cupertino rolls that out.

It could be an iOS 10.0.3, something to address the recent discovery of Elcomsoft tied up to the weaker security on the iTunes backups. Some may not find it important but hackers gaining access to them could be worse than intruding phones. Much of this was covered in a previous post.

iOS 10 loopholes get off easily

With word of those loopholes on iOS 10 exposed, the hacking groups may have failed to get the excellent opportunity to issue a working iOS 10 jailbreak. Though Apple will be patching things up, the fact is that the revelation means that security for Apple devices is not 100% perfect.

Hence, all this could open the doors to encourage Pangu, TaiG or Todesco to try and crack the iOS 10.0.2 as we speak. As far as Pangu is concerned, they should be at the helm of it all considering they were the first one who showed off an iOS 10 jailbreak.

The same holds true for Todesco who has been showboating his iOS 10.0.1 jailbreaking success. The only problem with him is that he has made no more than promises of making his hacks public, leading many to believe that his claims were nothing more but a show off given the Apple jailbreaking community false hopes.

Race against time

Apple will likely surprise most of its users with the new patch and chances are that hacking groups are the ones waiting. It makes no sense to issue an iOS 10.0.2 jailbreak right now since it will eventually be useless to updated Apple device owners.

Considering that the security issue is pretty serious, hacking groups are likely opting to wait. Rather than waste their effort on a crack, the best bet is to work on a possible iOS 10.0.3 jailbreak if this is what the Cupertino company actually has planned.
