With seven seasons under its belt, fans of the hit animated spy comedy are raring to see yet another season when "Archer" Season 8 release date come. Their wishes just got answered and more; the show has been renewed for not only one but three more seasons.
FX Announces 'Archer' Season 8, 9, 10 Renewal
The highly entertaining animated series has proven its mettle with its consistently enviable ratings of 100 percent for five seasons, one season of 92 percent and another of 93 percent in Rotten Tomatoes. It is not surprising that FX would be giving its nod for "Archer" Season 8 plus two more seasons, reports Variety.
'Archer' Season 10 To Be The Finale
In fact, the network might have been willing to renew the series beyond "Archer" Seasons 8, 9 and 10. But apparently, show creator and writer Adam Reed says ten season is about enough.
According to Reed, the plan is to reach episode 10, a finish line that he has personally set. In addition the next seasons will be shorter than the usual thirteen episodes in the past, reports Polygon. Starting with "Archer" Season 8, each season will contain only eight episodes until its tenth run.
The decision to make shorter seasons starting "Archer" Season 8 is made by Reed himself. Reed revealed that creating a single season is a very exhausting experience for him. In fact, it surprises him that some shows could manage to churn out 22 episodes a season, a feat that he admits is beyond him.

Fan who might have wondered what happened to Archer in last season's finale just got their question answered. Apparently, FX let audiences at the Comic-Con preview an "Archer" Season 8 trailer that shows what really happened to Alex.
Last season was a cliffhanger which left viewers wondering if Archer survived or perished. Fortunately, the trailer shows that thankfully, Archer is still alive but still in a coma, reports Indie Wire. Unfortunately though, the "Archer" Season 8 trailer shown at the recent Comic-Con is still unavailable online at the moment.
