Sad news for all the Drake fans as the rapper recently cancelled his "Summer Sixteen" shows. An ankle injury has been cited as the main reason for the tour's' cancellation. Live Nation confirmed on CBC News that Sunday Night's event in Toronto has already been cancelled, but the other on Saturday Night will push through as scheduled.
Drake and his team have not confirmed possible re-schedules, but assured ticket holders; they will receive emails for the next thing to do as well as refunds. In a recent post from Drake, he said "I am crushed to even be typing this announcement because I feel like I am letting my fans in these cities down. I hate to be told, I can't do something."
The cities affected by the cancellation of Drake "Summer Sixteen" tour include his hometown Toronto and Philadelphia. Nevertheless, Drake will perform one of the two announced schedules in Newark. Added in his post, confirms his injury "But under doctor's orders to allow me to recuperate, I am being forced to postpone the intense three shows in a row, in cities which have only ever shown me unconditional support."
The Drake "Summer Sixteen" Kicked off in July and since then, the rapper has revealed, he has written seven songs so far and he's just getting started. Drake's "One Dance" has been a hit and now, Kanye West revealed, a collaboration of an album between him and Drake will happen soon. Apparently, Drake's tour has not slowed down the rapper and has allowed him to even write more songs for his new album. Unfortunately, imminent ending of his "Summer Sixteen" tour has been marred with an ankle injury.
