'Scandal' Season 6 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Poor Performance Of Other Shondaland Shows Affect TV Series? Will It Be Canceled?

"Scandal" Season 6 has been moved because of Kerry Washington's pregnancy, but there are swirling rumors that the show will be, actually, cancelled. The hearsays started as the show's creator Shonda Rhimes' Shondaland produced TV series, "Grey's Anatomy" and "How to Get Away with Murder," allegedly have poor ratings.

Will 'Scandal' Season 6 Because Of Other Shondaland's Shows Poor Performance?

"Scandal" Season 6 is one of television shows Shonda Rhimes handles that she really puts her heart the most. But, as per FX News Call, ABC executives are getting upset for the poor performance other series that Shondaland produced, like "Grey's Anatomy" and "How to Get Away with Murder." With that, it has been said that the coming "Scandal" Season 6 might be affected.

The publication noted that if the Shondaland shows continue to bring poor ratings, there is a threat that "Scandal" Season 6 will be cancelled. If this, indeed, is true, fans will be left hanging as the show leaves a lot of unanswered questions that is expected to be seen in the next installment. However, ABC has yet to confirm this news, so viewers should only take this with a grain of salt.

ABC Make 'Notorious' Same Like 'Scandal'

This is the first time that "Scandal" Season 6 is not part of ABC's TGIT or Thank God it's Thursday schedule and it looks like fans didn't like it. The show's usual time slot has been occupied by "Notorious." Hence, viewers feel a little strange not to see Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) on the small screen, GamenGuide reported previously. The political thriller TV series has been part of the network's Thursday prime since it was premiered in 2013.

However, it looks like ABC made sure that fans will still feel the presence of the show's theme as "Notorious" has the same concept like "Scandal." Led by Piper Perabo, Daniel Sunjata and Ryan Guzman, it also has a combination of crime and legal drama that could be watched in between "Grey's Anatomy" and "How to Get Away with Murder." "Scandal" Season 6 will return in midseason of 2017 on ABC.
