‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Showrunner Talks Negan’s Death; Reacts To Glenn’s Demise

"The Walking Dead" Season 7 is set to return to the small screens with a bigger world and even more villainous characters. Recently, the AMC series' showrunner shared some interesting details about Negan demise and Glenn's speculated death.

The AMC series "The Walking Dead" Season 7 will feature the scary reign of the big bad Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), as well as the introduction of new communities and its interesting characters. With Negan's violent actions, viewers may have wondered whether the said character will soon meet his match in upcoming episodes. In a panel during the New York Comic Con, Robert Kirkman talked about his planned death scene for Negan, Polygon reported.

The showrunner revealed that he initially planned to kill Negan in an earlier issue of "The Walking Dead" comic books. The said villain was only supposed to appear in four or five issues, according to Kirkman. However, he fell in love with the character and decided to keep him in the comic books.

Negan's original death scene involved Rick who was supposed to put the villain's head in a box and deliver it to Maggie. The gesture was meant to be an apology gift to Maggie as she gained control of the Hilltop.

At this time, it is unclear if the showrunners of the AMC series will decide to follow a similar storyline for Morgan's character. Negan's appearance in the TV show is expected to change a lot in the series. His murderous actions in the Season 6 finale will also impact Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his gang.

Meanwhile, Kirkman also gave a candid when a fan asked him about Glenn's (Steven Yeun) speculated death in the upcoming Season 7 premiere. Although he neither confirmed nor denied the said character's death, he hinted that many fans will "be very upset" with the results of Negan's actions.

In other news, Carol (Melissa McBride) is set to meet Ezekiel in an upcoming Season 7 episode. The iconic character is the leader of the Kingdom, one of the new communities hinted during the Season 6 finale. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, McBride commented on how Carol will consider her meeting with Ezekiel and his pet tiger as a bizarre scene.

Carol will also have an interesting reaction to Ezekiel's Kingdom and the different characters that she will meet in the said community. McBride added, "It's very beautiful. I can tell you that. It's a bit unreal."

"The Walking Dead" Season 7 will premiere on Oct. 23 on AMC. Watch the teaser clip below:
