'Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag' Gets A Release Date Leak [RUMOR]

A small goof on the Assassin's Creed wedsite led to some information for the upcoming "Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag" to leak out a bit ahead of schedule. The information was both the release date, and the consoles the game would release on.

The site has since been fixed, but thanks to screencaps (seen above), we now know that once upon a time the text read "Also coming to next-gen consoles October 29th." Whoops.

Interesting thing, that date. October isn't exactly "holiday season," which is when Sony plans to release the PS4. Does this mean that current-gen systems will get "Black Flag" first? That remains to be seen.

The site sports the dreaded countdown timer--a tired promotional gimmick-- to when more information will be available.

What started out as just DLC rumors, "Black Flag" was confirmed as a full game by a recent poster leak, as well as official box art on Thursday. Ubisoft will be announcing "all the details of Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag on Monday March 4th at 5pm GMT," about 12pm EST.
