Amid the possible and very qualified Asian actresses named to play the possible role of Mulan, a Hollywood A-lister is reportedly eyed by Disney to play the role of Fa Mulan. Jennifer Lawrence, known for her roles in "X-Men" and "The Hunger Games," is reportedly one of the top choices to star in "Mulan" live-action movie. The die hard fans of "Mulan" are not happy with the choice not because Jennifer Lawrence is not a good actress, but mainly because Jennifer Lawrence is not Asian.
The iconic animated "Mulan" is known to be fully loaded with Chinese characters and culture. The fans wish that Disney would not change the rich, historical Asian culture that "Mulan" has portrayed and hopes to see a full range of Asian characters to star in "Mulan" live-action movie. The top Asian actresses named by fans to play the role of Fa Mulan include Jamie Chung (who already played the role of Mulan in "Once Upon A Time") and Korean actress, Park Shin Hye.
