'The Elder Scrolls Online' Latest News & Updates: Tamriel Unlimited Version Had Lapsed Players Returning

One of the considered biggest franchises in today's gaming era is the video game "The Elder Scrolls." Launched for PC in April of year 2014 was the "Elder Scrolls Online." It thereafter came to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One the following summer.

As previously reported by Game Spot, "Elder Scrolls Online" may have first launched on PC but it has more players in console. Bethesda, an American video game publisher, is the publisher of "The Elder Scrolls Online" which is just over two and a half years into its life. Barely short in existence, it is a well-received game by many players.

While Bethesda has not shared specific details about the number of players who currently enjoy the multiplayer game "The Elder Scrolls Online," it spilled to Polygon how its player base is split among consoles and PC.

Matt Firor, game director of "The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited," said that the player base is pretty much divided 30 percent give or take between each of the video game's three major platforms , according to Polygon. The three major video game platforms that director Matt Firor is referring to are Xbox One, Windows PC/Mac, and PlayStation 4.

The said division is despite the console versions of "The Elder Scrolls Online" not launching over a year after Mac and Windows versions. During the launch of "The Elder Scrolls Online" in April of 2014, the number of players shrunk. It was only until Bethesda relaunched it as "The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited" in March of 2015 that is surpassed the number of players it had found during the original launch.

The relaunch of "The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited" included the publisher dropping the monthly subscription fee. The dropping was initially required for the game which led to many lapsed players returning.

Now, "The Elder Scrolls Online" was able to achieve the addition of new players for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game. To which, Matt Firor said that it was all they ever wanted.
