While a definite "Stranger Things" Season 2 release date is yet to be announced by Netflix, fans of the paranormal series can rest easy with the assurance that a second season is going to happen. Recently, the series announced that two new actors are joining the "Stranger Things" Season 2 cast. In addition, the show leads Netflix in attaining the network's record breaking $2 billion quarterly revenue, ensuring that its second season will be happening.

New Actors Join 'Stranger Things' Season 2 Cast

Fans of the hit Netflix series could expect at least two new faces when "Stranger Things" Season 2 episode 1 arrives next year. The network recently announced the inclusion of actress Sadie Sink and actor Dacre Montgomery for the coming season, reports Variety.

Sadie Sink is set to play as Max, a tomboyish character described to be the suspicious type when "Stranger Things" Season 2 release date comes. The actress also starred in other Netflix series such as "The Americans" and "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt."

On the other hand, Australian actor Dacre Montgomery will play as Billy, Max's step brother with the arrival of the "Stranger Things" Season 2 air date. Bill is described as a "girl-stealing bad boy," who is already speculated to interfere with sweethearts Nancy and Steve.

In its quarterly earnings report, Netflix announced a 36 percent surge for its third quarter revenue compared to the same period last year. A record-breaking figure, the online streaming giant posted an astounding $2.15 billion revenue on the back of its higher than expected 3.6 million new subscribers, a significant surplus of the 2.3 million that the company had expected, reports The Verge. Can "Stranger Things" Season 2 beat this?

Powering the company on its stellar performance is the network's stable of relatively new show's led by "Stranger Things" and "Narcos." "Stranger Things" is said to be particularly surprising as it became a cultural phenomenon last summer.  Of course, that means that fans would definitely be seeing a "Stranger Things" Season 2 release date.
