'ARMA 3' Alpha Update 0.52 Is Out: Crash Fixes, Shadow Enhancements And More [UPDATE]

Developer Bohemia Interactive is rolling out a brand new patch 0.52 for “ARMA 3” Alpha with a focus on improved network performance, improvements to shadows and much more, as well as a boatload of fixes.

As for new features, the company is adding new new map locations and you can now unload troops from the patrolling Ka-60 Black when under fire. There are also more enemies in the airfield and improved mission endings.

There are some changes to the engine as well. These include shadow improvements, better vehicle collisions, fixes to various inventory-related bugs and crashes, improved network performance with vehicles not lagging as much as they used to, different numberings for Default and Development versions to prevent incompatibilities in multiplayer, and fixes to other several game breaking issues.

This is still the Alpha version and bugs and glitches are expected. While the Beta version has been for a while, the full release is set to be available in the third quarter.

While the final version of “ARMA 3” is still a long way from release, “ARMA 3” Alpha is now available for testing purposes. It is available on Steam through the Early Access program.

Fans can upgrade to the complete “ARMA 3” Alpha by purchasing the “ARMA 3” Alpha (for $32.99) or “ARMA 3” Digital Deluxe Edition (for $49.99) on Steam.

“Extras in the Digital Deluxe Edition include a digital soundtrack, digital maps, digital tactical guide, and a Steam Gift of Arma: Cold War Assault (formerly known as Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis). Both versions provide access to the Arma 3 Beta plus a digital version of the complete game upon release,” the developer's web site states. “The price of each edition will increase once the Arma 3 Beta and final game become available.”
