PlayStation 4 News & Updates: Scheduled PSN Maintenance To Happen On October 26! Other Details Here!

Watch out, PS4 players, you might want to avoid playing or watching anything important on Wednesday, October 26. Sony has announced that the PlayStation Network will be undergoing maintenance for at least an hour long early in the morning on that day.

According to a report by Games Radar, Sony says that during the maintenance period, PlayStation 4 players will still be able to log in to the PlayStation Network, play PlayStation games, and use most of the PlayStation 4 applications. What's not available during maintenance is Account Management, the PlayStation Store, and PlayStation Video.

What you need to be concerned with is setting your main PlayStation 4 as your primary console before the PlayStation Network goes to maintenance, because not doing so might spell some sort of unpredictable trouble for you. Although you can still play games, it's better to be safe than sorry and not play anything while it's happening just so nothing gets lost in the shuffle.

The PlayStation Network had issues with the exact same modes the upcoming maintenance period will fix earlier today, but now it's all right. Hopefully, they'll be able to make sure that these issues won't have to happen again. They have to do their best to avoid another major hack -- like what happened back in 2011 -- considering they just won gamers' trust again.

Sony has recently announced the PlayStation 4 Pro, an upgrade to the PlayStation 4 that's designed to "sit beside" and complement the original console. GameSpot reports that the PlayStation 4 Pro will allow you to play PlayStation 4 games in ultra 4K resolution, and even if you don't have a 4K HD TV, you'll still be able to notice visual improvements in standard HD TVs. The PlayStation 4 Pro will be releasing next month, on November 10, just in time for the holidays.
