'The Last of Us' Will Not Be On The PS4 When It Launches

We're in an odd sort of transitory period at the moment now following the official PlayStation announcement by Sony, where any new game could be launched on both current and next-gen systems like "Diablo 3."

While NEOGaf forum members were discussing some footage that debuted at PAX Prime, Naughty Dog's own Arne Meyer popped up to answer a few fans' questions, and he revealed that for the time being, "The Last of Us" is only set to release on PS3.

"We're focused on shipping for PS3 - thinking about how to bring this over to the PS4 would distract us right now. IF that's something we can and choose to do, I suspect it would happen once we release the game."

"The Last of Us" takes 14 year old Ellie and "ruthless" survivor Joel through a post-apocalyptic Pittsburgh (and a few other spots) that's been overtaken by nature with scant bits of civilization left. What's the source of humanity's downfall? Fungus, and it's no Princess Toadstool.

"The Last of Us" was recently hit with a delay, and should be available June 14th.
