Microsoft 'Surface Pro 5' Release Date, News & Update: What Else is in Store Aside From the Laptop Lines?

Microsoft has dropped the bomb on Apple after they announced, they are launching the Surface Pro 5 on the 26th of October, few days before Apple will hold its own event. For months, Microsoft remained quiet on the Surface lines, leaving the centerstage to Apple and its MacBook Pro 2016 launching.

Now, it looks like Microsoft is all set to take the centerstage, along with few revelations on the Surface Pro 5 device. According to reports, the newest and most notable feature of the Surface Pro is the rechargeable Surface Pen. Previously, the Surface Pen is equipped with a battery to keep it useful. Now, the latest on The Surface Pro 5 is the rechargeable Pen that automatically recharges when made contact with the Surface screen. That's like saying, the Pen will never run out of power.

With a 4K and 2k display variants, the Surface Pro 5 is expected to carry the Intel Chipset with a kaby Lake processor. The device is also said to have a 16GB of RAM with the keyboard cover, incredibly changing the gameplay of the new Surface Pro 5. Fans have been looking forward to this day, unfortunately Microsoft has not given any detailed information on what to expect on their upcoming event.

One of the biggest topics said to be discussed in the upcoming event, is the Windows 10 software. Despite the Surface Pro 5 making a statement, the Windows 10 will cover almost everything at the launch; the Surface lines, Windows phones and even the gaming consoles mainly the Xbox One and the Xbox One S featuring the Scorpio model.

According to the University Herald, the Microsoft event will kickoff on the 26th of October at exactly 10AM ET. Those who won't be able to attend the event can follow The Verge with their live blog of the event.
