‘Jessica Jones’ Season 2 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: EP Melissa Rosenberg Makes Announcement; Trish Walker-Jessica Jones Lesbian Relationship Confirmed?

Girl power is more intensified in "Jessica Jones" Season 2 not just because the heroine will move on to a new chapter in her life without Kilgrave (David Tennant) but also because of the directors on-board for each of the episode. It was first reported by Variety's Mo Ryan that each episode of the second season will directed by women.

Ryan was in attendance at a panel at the Transforming Hollywood 7: Diversifying Entertainment on Friday. She then relayed showrunner Melissa Rosenberg's "Jessica Jones" Season 2 announcement on Twitter. "All 13 episodes of @JessicaJones S2 will be directed by women, EP Melissa Rosenberg says at her @transformhwoodpanel. @tallgirlmel #TH7," Ryan tweeted.

As reported by Slashfilm, female directors are nothing new in "Jessica Jones" as some of them helmed the episodes from the first season. However, only four were credited to have directed the episodes from the previous season. Having all-female directors on board for "Jessica Jones" Season 2 is great since the story is told from a woman's perspective.

It only makes sense that Jessica (Krysten Ritter) and her adopted sister, Trish (Rachael Taylor) will be given more focus in "Jessica Jones" Season 2. As previously revealed by Rosenberg, the relationship between the two characters will deepen. Trish-Jessica dynamic has always been an important element of the show and it continues to be in the second season. It's speculated that Trish will finally give in to her superhero calling as Hellcat and Jessica will be there to guide her.

Official plot details for "Jessica Jones" Season 2 are not available just yet. A release date for the second season has not been confirmed but Blastr reported that start of filming is tentatively scheduled in November. "Jessica Jones" is expected to air after "Iron Fist" and "The Defenders," likely sometime in 2018.
