Fan, who might have waited all these years for a "Charmed" Season 9 finally got their wish granted, sort of. A ninth season will definitely be happening but no, it will no longer feature Shannen Doherty, Alyssa Milano and Holly Marie Combs anymore.
In a recent announcement, Dynamite Entertainment will be reviving "Charmed" Season 9 along with another popular tv franchise, the animated hit "Mighty Mouse," reports TV Series Finale. Finally, fans will be able to catch up what happens next to the three Halliwell sisters. However, since Dynamite will be reviving the franchise as a comic book series, actresses Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs and Alyssa Milano will not be reprising their roles.
According to Dynamite CEO Nick Barrucci, "Charmed" is perfect is the perfect show to be made into a comic series. The company had previous successes with cult television materials and Barrucci believes that the Halliwell sisters transitioning into print media will do just as well.
Before the current supernatural-themed series like "Supernatural" and "Teen Wolf," "Charmed" ruled television for eight seasons starting 1998 until "Charmed" Season 8 ended in 2006.So, is "Charmed" Season 9 really happening? We'll see.
For starters, "Charmed" follows the three Halliwell sisters' eventual discovery that they are the three most powerful witches in the world charged with protecting it from the various demonic and evil entities. Up until now, it remains to be seen if the same stars will be portraying the roles in the upcoming "Charmed" Season 9.

Shannen Doherty played Prue Halliwell, the eldest of the Halliwell sister also known as The Charmed Ones, possesses telekinesis at first until she developed bilocation and astral projection later on.
The second sister, Piper, was played by actress Holly Marie Combs, possesses the power to freeze her surroundings at first she eventually gain more proficiency in later "Charmed" seasons that she may cause evil entities or objects to explode. The youngest sister, Phoebe, was portrayed by Alyssa Milano. Phoebe possesses premonition as well as levitation.
