"Pokemon Sun & Moon" isn't due for a couple more weeks, but many enterprising fans have managed to really dig up some amazing dirt from the game's data. A week ago it was the missing, unrevealed entries of the Alolan Pokedex. This time, it's exactly what Pokemon you can catch on each island in the game.
The Hawaii-inspired "Pokemon Sun & Moon" location of Alola is made up of four huge islands, just like the real-world state it takes after. Each island has its own distinct ecosystem of sorts that different Pokemon could be caught. This particular "Pokemon Sun & Moon" Reddit thread features images of exactly what Pokemon can be found on each island. What isn't known yet is how many cities will be on each island, and just how big they will be.
What did they find? Well for one thing, along with the new Pokemon species, there will be pre-seventh generation Pokemon you can catch in "Pokemon Sun & Moon." This doesn't just mean the Alolan forms of Generation 1 Pokemon; older Pokemon will exist in the game in non-Alolan forms. Only the Generation 1 Pokemon will have new forms, anyway.
Speaking of Alolan Generation 1 Pokemon, one little bit of interesting info they found was that the Grass/Dragon-type Alolan Exeggutor cannot be caught in the wild in "Pokemon Sun & Moon." You're most likely going to have to catch a local Exeggcute and evolve it.
Ultra Beasts will also be in "Pokemon Sun & Moon." What they are exactly isn't revealed yet according to the official Pokemon announcement, but their name and description alone suggest that they are new mysterious, powerful Pokemon. It's unsure as to whether players will be able to catch them normally.
"Pokemon Sun & Moon" will drop for the Nintendo 3DS next month. The rest of the world will get it on November 18, while Europe will have to wait a week longer to get it on November 23.
