‘Pokemon Go’ Release Date, News & Update: Microsoft in Talks with Niantic Labs; Game Available in Windows Mobile Soon?

The "Pokemon Go" hype is not as strong now as it was the time it was released but still, the game is still popular among many players, especially those who are fans of the classic game. The augmented reality game app is currently downloadable and playable on iOS and Android platforms, which means Windows Phone users are still left out.

Until now, Windows Phone users still can't play "Pokemon Go" on their devices. It is believed that the reason why Niantic doesn't have the game on Windows Mobile is because the operating system is not doing as great as iOS and Android in the market share, WCCFTech reported. What this also means is that Niantic can gain more profit from the two strong operating systems.

Although Windows Phone operating system is not viewed as strong as its rivals, it doesn't mean that there are no users who wish to experience "Pokemon Go" in their Windows-based devices. In fact, there were a lot of people sending their feedback to the Redmond-based company asking why the specific popular game is not compatible with their devices.

Microsoft was even accommodating enough to respond that it's doing its best to find "options" on how to fulfill users' request. The closest thing that Windows Phone users ever got to playing "Pokemon Go" was through the third party application, "PoGo-UWP," which runs with emulators.

However, not all players are willing or equipped with technical skills to install "Pokemon Go" and that becomes a hindrance for them. But reports have it that Microsoft is in talks with Niantic for months now to come up with a solution on how to make the game available to Windows Mobile devices.

For now, Windows Phone users can just rely on PoGo-UWP to be able to play "Pokemon Go." Pretty soon, Microsoft should come up with an update so stay tuned to GamenGuide.
