"Person of Interest" ended its fifth season with a major cliffhanger that only a new season would be able to address. However, the fate of the series remains uncertain but it had been announced that season 5 was the last. Fans just can't get enough of the drama series that a petition was launched to make sure there will be a "Person of Interest" Season 6.
Fans of the science fiction series have launched the petition to save "Person of Interest" as it is considered "one of the most unique TV shows of today." The Jim Caveziel-starred series didn't fail to entertain the audiences that most of them believe it's worth giving another shot. It doesn't even matter if producers of the show will come up with a "Person of Interest" Season 6 renewal, a reboot or a spin-off just as long as it features the same cast.
Now, there are talks that there might not be a "Person of Interest" Season 6 but a spin-off, based on hints given by the cast. In an interview with Deadline, executive producer Greg Plageman was asked if he's interested in doing a follow-up to the series and he replied in part, "So could it be that this show is strong enough that it could come back in a different form? I would say never say never in a world where we've seen the X-Files and 24 and a number of really strong premises come back as well." Series creator Jonah Nolan chimed in and said that the team had fun making the series that if an opportunity to make it presents itself, Nolan would step to be part of the project "in a heartbeat."
Sarah Shahi, who played Shaw on "Person of Interest," also shared what she thinks about the circulating spin-off rumors. In an interview with TV Insider, Shahi revealed that she had heard about the spin-off rumors many times. She also hinted that she would be willing to reprise her role if given the opportunity.For now, it remains to be seen if CBS will be moved by the petition filed by fans to save the series.
