Android 7.1 Nougat Update Now Live for Some Devices, Other Users May Need to Wait; Is it a Fair Move?

The Android 7.1 Nougat update is one that many smartphone owners found intriguing. Being a massively anticipated feat, there is very little room for misconception as to whether or not it will involve their devices as well, but as of late, hopes are definitely going way up.

Announcements on such update have become a critical move for the parties involved, even more as it was given a marker to expect the roll out. In the beginning, the Pixel and Pixel XL are the only ones considered valid to have the Android 7.1 Nougat update - given that they are Google's flagship devices.

According to Neurogadget, Nexus units are fortunate to actually be bestowed the Android 7.1 Nougat update, at least for now. For those who wish to specify, the 7.1 update goes for the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P and the Pixel C convertible tablet. Other smartphone users are not to fret, as their share of the update has not been ruled out at all.

Google Vice President for Engineering David Burke claimed that next month, the beta version for the other devices will be given. Taking the word of the company, the Android 7.1 Nougat update was scheduled to be released late October, which was lived up to entirely. On a more technical note, those who wish to fabricate Android applications can align with the application programming interface or API at level 25.

In the same manner, reports of other devices receiving their Android 7.1 Nougat update point to the possibility of a December release. This potentially includes the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C and lastly, Android One devices. Other than such, patience is the only matter to be aware of momentarily for all the smartphone users.
