‘Pokemon Sun and Moon' Tagged As The Most Pre Ordered Game In The History Of Nintendo

It's the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" again leading the charts, but in another manner you can't possibly imagine. In a recent update online, the game apparently hold the title of most pre ordered game in the history of Nintendo. The reveal was made after the company's financial briefing concluded during the week. In a twitter post by Nintendo of America, it said "Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon are already breaking records! Have you played the free Special Demo Version yet?"

That being said, VG24/7 reported that, Pokemon Moon on the other hand made a record of the most downloaded game in the 3DS demo of the company. Some say, the success of the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" has everything to do with the popular "Pokemon GO" game. This was subtly confirmed by Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima when he implied that, the visibility of the Pokemon title in mobile has also led to the massive response on the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" game.

Apparently, Nintendo's plans on capitalizing with mobile applications paid off. He also said that, more players are using the mobile platform to play games. It's the direction they hope to go in order to cater to more mobile players. His statement said "And it has really proved our original thesis: by releasing our software on the smartphone, it positively impacts our existing hardware and software business."

Meanwhile, Kimishima during an interview with Bloomberg shed light on rumors that the company will discontinue the 3DS. He denied the rumors saying, because of their software, the 3DS platform continues to flourish. He also added that, the Nintendo Switch will not replace the 3DS platform; believing that the latter can go on as a standalone platform.
