Nintendo Switch Release Date, Latest News & Update: Wii U Folding Production This November [VIDEO]
All eyes are on the new game console from Nintendo with the Nintendo Switch. This is the company’s new ticket in the gaming world which will take over from the Wii U.
Nintendo fell miserably with the Wii U, an offering that failed to pan up after turning in low sales figures that burdened the Japanese-based company. Sales forecasts for the Wii U were adjusted, decreased to a meager 800,000 units to be sold by the end of 2016, Nintendo reported.
The Wii U holds an uncanny future once the Nintendo Switch comes out in March 2017 but it looks like Nintendo doesn’t plan to wait that long. Production for the Wii U will reportedly be halted by the end of the week, likely signaling the demise of the not-so-impressive game console, Eurogamer reported.
The fate of the Wii U doesn’t come much of a surprise considering it was bound to be killed off eventually. The content available for the Nintendo game console has been quiet for some time with only “Paper Mario: Color Splash” seeing the light of day in the second half of 2016.
Curiously, there is still one familiar Wii U game title set to come out in 2017. This is “Legend of Zelda: Breathe of the Wild” that is set to come out in early 2017. Seeing, however, that a version for the Nintendo Switch will also be released, this game title is unlikely to make a difference for the flickering hopes of the Wii U, Slash Gear reported.
As far as the Nintendo Switch is concerned, all eyes are on what new features this next gen game console will have to offer. The upcoming game console is a flexible and portable solution that players can use even in the outdoors.
While that should be something, pondering on which games will be included has been dished in a previous post. A new "Mario" game is expected other than "Legend of Zelda" but games coming from third parties has yet to be confirmed. Much of this was covered in a previous post.
