As previously reported by Los Angeles Times, "The Flash" movie just recently lost its director. Director Rick Famuyiwa has parted ways with American entertainment company Warner Bros due to what he cited as "creative differences."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Director Rick Famuyiwa said that he was excited about the opportunity when he was approached by Warner Bros and DC about the possibility of directing "The Flash" movie. He was thrilled to enter the world of characters that he loved growing up and loves to this day.
Director Rick Famuyiwa has been on board for "The Flash" movie since June. He was even overseeing the castings of Billy Crudup and Kiersey Clemons in key roles.
Despite being off "The Flash" movie, Director Rick Famuyiwa has this to say, "While it is disappointing that we could not come together creatively on the project, I remain grateful for the opportunity." Director Rick Famuyiwa left but with gratefulness for the experience of being able to contribute his creative juices to a dream project.
"The Flash" movie was in preproduction. It was headed towards a March 2017 start date with a March 16, 2018 release date. The delay will also be due to Ezra Miller, who portrays the character of Barry Allen, working on other commitments in July of 2017.
