"Star Wars Episode 8" is still in development and will not release until late in 2017. However, there are rumors that Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) will have a new costume, reminiscent to that of Darth Vader's.
'Star Wars Episode 8' Spoilers: Kylo Ren Gets A New Costume
Making Star Wars reported that Kylo Ren will still wear the same mask in the next installment, but his robes will be different. Sources said that Kylo Ren will be sporting a Darth Vader cape in "Star Wars Episode 8."
The cape is said to look the same as the one that Darth Vader wore in Episode 5 and 6, although it will not feature the same clasp. It is unclear whether Kylo Ren will wear one of his grandfather's actual capes, or made one that looked much like the original.
Also, Kylo Ren will still be wielding the unique red lightsaber with the cross guard. Digital Spy stated that some sources mentioned that Kylo Ren's new costume in "Star Wars Episode 8" looks like that of Luke Skywalker's (Mark Hamill) in "Return of the Jedi."
In "Star Wars Episode 8," Luke's outfit was black, although he brought back the balance to the Force, despite being the son of a Sith. Kylo Ren may turn out to have the same destiny and be the chosen one to retain the balance in the new Star Wars story.
'Star Wars Episode 8' Spoilers: Old Star Wars Relics Returning
There are also talks that a number of old Star Wars relics from the original sage may be returning in "Star Wars Episode 8," such Darth Vader's lightsaber. In "Star Wars Episode 7," Rey (Daisy Ridley) actually had visions with Luke Skywalker's lightsaber.
Darth Vader's lightsaber was reportedly sold on the black market. Many rare artifacts and items were obtained by collectors in the galaxy through the years. It is possible that at one point, Kylo Ren managed to acquire his grandfather's original cape -- which he'll hopefully wear in "Star Wars Episode 8."
"Star Wars Episode 8" will continue the story of the "Skywalker Saga." Rian Johnson will serve as director, with returning and new cast members to star. In the meantime, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is set to launch in December 2016. More updates and details are expected soon.
