Xbox One Latest News & Update: Backwards Compatibility Released This Month; Here Are The Upcoming Requested Games For Its Catalog

Backwards compatibility for Xbox One will be released this month. Its catalog has already been announced and it already includes the newly-added Blue Dragon and Limbo. But players can anticipate more highly requested games to be added in their Xbox One.

According to GameSpot, Mike Ybarra, the lead in Microsoft Engineering said that Project Scorpio this week will support the Xbox backwards compatibility. As of the moment, more than 250 Xbox 360 games can be played on Xbox One. More games will be added in the list.

With regard to the upcoming games for the console, Xbox executive Phil Spencer said on Twitter that he just received the list of games to be added to the catalog in November from the backwards compatibility team. Spencer did not mention any titles but he teased by bringing up some of the top games requested by fans.

Xbox One Latest News & Update: Teaser For November 12 Release

In Finder, Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb revealed a teaser for the future of Xbox One Backwards Compatibility program at PAX AUS 2016. He hinted players that more releases will happen on November 12. This made speculations that requested games that will be played soon on Xbox One include "Mass Effect" and "Call of Duty."

Among the requested games, "Call of Duty: Black Ops II" is the top one with over 190,000 votes. Requests for "Call of Duty" include "Modern Warfare 2," "Modern Warfare 3" and "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare." Games in the top ten slots also include "Mass Effect 2 & 3," "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim," "Grand Theft Auto IV," "Batman: Arkham City" and "Bioshock Infinite."

There are no guarantees that all these requested games will be added to the Catalog. These are still subject to change. Players are now advised to stay tuned with online comments and wait for the release next week.
