‘Fallout 4’ Latest News & Updates: Mod Updates, PS4 Pro Support & More! 60 FPS Patch Coming Soon?

Console fans rejoiced when Bethesda announced that mod support would be coming to "Skyrim" Special Edition. Mods were a luxury that was formerly exclusive to PC players, allowing further immersive customization of the RPG experience. Ever since then, fans have been wondering when that same mod support would be coming to Bethesda's post-apocalyptic wasteland in "Fallout 4."

According to Express UK, Bethesda has expressed their intentions of updating "Fallout 4" for mod support, as well as compatibility with the PS4 Pro. The game studio prioritized "Skyrim" first, stating that Bethesda and Sony have worked together diligently to make mods on consoles happen. Bethesda then goes on to explain that, "You will not be able to upload external assets with your PlayStation 4 mods, but you will be able to use any assets that come with the game, as most mods do."

Although the PS4 does not currently have the same full mod support that the Xbox One or the PC does, Bethesda has stated that they have not given up working on "Fallout 4" or PS4 mod support at all. Bethesda's own Pete Hines has gone on record stating, "Whether it will change in the future, I don't know. It isn't up to me. We will continue to push to have mods work the same on all platforms."

There have also been rumblings about an update that will allow a smooth 60 FPS upgrade for "Fallout 4" on both the PS4 and Xbox One. However, as reported by Gaming Bolt, the chances of Bethesda releasing a 60 FPS patch are very unlikely.

Pete Hines went on record again on his official Twitter account and made it clear that there is no update currently in development for a "Fallout 4" 60 FPS patch. The PS4 Pro is capable of achieving a steady 60 frames per second, which was the basis of those rumors. However, it seems console players may need to wait a little longer for a native 60 FPS cap in Bethesda games.
